Jackie Beat’s Los Angeles Home

The Amazing Jackie Beat

Our friend, Jackie Beat, is a world-renowned drag superstar, thanks to an exhaustive touring schedule that has included opening for Rosanne.  Jackie also writes for film and television and will cream anyone who is brave enough to challenge him in a game of scrabble. When Jackie finally decided to spend his hard earned money on a new home, he asked for the assistance of Jonamor Decor to make his 1940′s ranch house fit for a queen. In order to create a more sophisticated and uncluttered atmosphere, Jackie downsized his many collections by keeping only those things he couldn’t live without. Jackie’s love of thrift shopping had helped him amass quite a few collections. Jackie has a predeliction for objects depicting dogs, cats, owls, and Sissy Spacek in the film, “Carrie”. His previous home was plastered with Carrie memorbilia.  We created focal point groupings and relegated his extensive “Carrie” collection to the office. Jackie purchased a large oil painting depicting peacocks, so we decided to use the piece as a jumping off point for the Chinoiserie living/dining room. Jackie’s sense of adventure and his talent for organizing and accessorizing made him a delight to work for. As Joan Crawford once said, “The one thing that separates us from the animals is our ability to accessorize.”
